What are Governments doing?
Governments are not doing much in comparison to other organisations, a lot more could be done on their part to help the Red pandas. Although the governments are supportive of NGO's and research institutions there is not enough evidence to suggest that they themselves have taken much deliberate action to come up with a long term solution. The Nepal government however has agreed and supported to protect a sacred land to the red panda species.
What are Non-government Organisations doing?
Non-government organisations are researching possible solutions and plans to help the Red Pandas survive. They spread the word of the Red pandas and try to educate people about how they can help. By educating others and making sure as many people as possible have knowledge of the issue, they have a better chance of more people wanting to help not only by donating but also by finding alternate ways to help save the Red Pandas. They preserve the population as best they can and attempt to find ways to reintroduce them to their natural habitat.
What needs do be done?
Not enough advertisement is being broadcast to spread awareness to more people. Government agencies need to put more resource and effort into funding a campaign to educate people about the Red Pandas and how they can help. The more people that know about the issue the more likely there will be people willing to donate, in the end the money spent funding the campaign will be won back with more people willing to help and more influential individuals wanting to donate to save the species.
